THIS IS HOW IT WORKS

When dogs and cheetahs bond, it transcends our human tendency to anthropomorphize. Unlike many felines, cheetahs are sociable, reading cues from nearby animals. Dogs, adept in social environments, help stabilize a cheetah’s potential anxiety.

This unlikely pairing reminds us of humanity’s role in curating interspecies relationships. While dogs owe their very existence to humans, cheetahs would thrive without us. But does that devalue the dog’s existence or their unique bond? They might not recognize their differences, but they recognize each other and that is the most beautiful thing.

Their bond challenges our perceptions. In their simple, profound connection, we find a lesson for ourselves: Sometimes we are the guiding dog, other times we are the anxious cheetah.
